Execution Stay Lifted, Gore Set to Die Wednesday

STARKE, Fla. (970 WFLA/AP)- A former escort service owner is scheduled to die by lethal injection at Florida State Prison.

The execution of Marshall Lee Gore is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The 49-year-old was supposed to be executed on June 24, but the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals approved a motion filed by Gore's attorney less than two hours before he was to have received a lethal injection. A federal appeals court lifted the stay of execution on June 28.

Gore was convicted in the 1988 slaying of Robyn Novick, a 30-year-old exotic dancer. In addition to Novick, Gore also was convicted and sentenced to death in the 1988 slaying of Susan Roark.
