(Tampa, Fla. - WFLA) Within hours of the president signing legisaltion to end the govenment shutdown, prices at the pump jumped. Triple A Tampa's Jessica Brady says it happened nationwide, and some areas saw prices spike five to seven cents a gallon.
Brady says it was likely a reaction to the deal to end the shutdown, and optimism that it would provide a boost to the economy. But she says there's more than enough negative economic news to temper any boost. Brady says gas supplies remain high and unemployment numbers are still up there.
Brady thinks the prices should level out and begin to fall by the end of the month.
