TAMPA, FL., (970 WFLA) The Second Annual Cuban Sandwich Festival was held Saturday in Ybor City's Centennial Park.
Local celebrities including Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor and 970 WFLA's Jack Harris judged the competition, trying twenty different versions of the city's famous sandwich. The judges had more than their fill of the crispy concoctions which can include ham, salami, pork, cheese, pickles and mustard and are pressed to perfection. And the winner was.....Michelle Faedo's On The Go, who also took the trophy last year.
The contest was for a very good cause, to raise funds for 18 month old Emberlyn Padilla, who was born without a diaphragm, and whose father, Solomon, is serving in Afghanistan.
