Kanye West rails against YouTube

Kanye West is taking aim at YouTube.  During an impromptu listening session for his upcoming album "Yeezus" at the Art Basel international art show in Switzerland this week, the rapper told a crowd that he dislikes YouTube because "the player is so ugly."

He added that it's "presented in such a terrible manner."  Because YouTube exhibits "sonic art," Yeezy believes the website should be more visually pleasing.  Keeping with the art theme, Kanye also compared sampling music in hip-hop to the methods of pop art pioneer Andy Warhol.  He says producers use previously made songs in the same way that Warhol appropriated the image of Campbell's Soup cans for some of his most well known works.

Kanye West's Yeezus hits stores next Tuesday.  Executive produced by Def Jam co-founder Rick Rubin, the album will feature appearances from Chief Keef, Frank Ocean, Kid Cudi and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon.
